As your community continues to work together to address youth suicide, you'll want to know if what you're doing is actually working. This is where evaluation comes in. This section describes what evaluation is, and why it’s important.
Evaluation involves collecting information about your youth suicide prevention risk management and postvention initiatives in a systematic way and analyzing to see if you're achieving what you set out to do. It tells you how you're doing and what you need to do differently to help you achieve your goals and sustain your efforts. 1
